Listen to Obituary
Alice Marie Kerwin finished her work on this earth Thursday morning, June 14th, after a brief illness.

Alice grew up in Chicago during the depression. She enjoyed living and working in the city, riding the ""L"" and sledding in Humboldt Park. She moved to DeKalb (the prairie) in 1943 after marrying the love of her life, Gene Kerwin. Together they raised their family. She retired from GE in 1984 after more than 20 years of service. She worked part-time for many years at Wayman's Ace Hardware. She was an avid game player and enjoyed walking after her retirement. Alice and Bud loved camping and fishing together before he passed in 1988.

Her greatest joy was her family. She never tired of telling about her ""wonderful kids"" and would share stories about them every chance she had. She had a kind and generous heart and a sharp sense of humor.

Heartfelt thanks to Fr. Ken Anderson, Dr. Ahmad at DeKalb Clinic, the nursing staff at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing center and DeKalb County Hospice, and special friends Joni and Shannon.
