Anne M. Mueller

Anne Marie Mueller (born Dillon), 90, died peacefully on July 24, 2017 after a short illness. Anne was born on November 1, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Mary Anne (Devaney) and Patrick Dillon. Anne graduated from Saint Sebastian High School in Chicago. She married Alfred Mueller at St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Chicago on June 19, 1948.

Anne's most important contribution in life was raising their seven children and being a loving, lifelong support to her husband and the CPA practice he founded, Mueller and Company. Anne (and Alfred) made it a special priority to give each of their children 12 years of Catholic schooling and to give them a good example of a loving marriage and warm family life. Her challenge to "offer it up" lives in their hearts.

Anne lived what she taught. She was a giving, caring person and her contributions included membership in parish women's groups; acting as a foster parent to seven newborn babies while they awaited adoption; volunteering in many capacities at grade schools and high schools and participating in charities too numerous to mention.

Anne was happiest when vacationing with her husband and hosting countless family holidays and celebrations in their home. The ease with which she fed and welcomed every guest is legendary. Thousands of warm, lovingly prepared meals and baked goods passed through her hands and were her favorite form of expressing her love and care.

Her children, Margaret (Gerald) Saindon, Carolyn (Phillip) Saindon, Catherine (Terry)
Williams, Alfred G. (Karen) Mueller, Stephen (Debora) Mueller, Lawrence (Kathleen) Mueller and Nancy (Jeff) Tegge are forever grateful for her steadfast loyalty to them; her encouragement, and unconditional love. Anne (and Alfred) have 24 grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren, all of whom will miss her and the special affection and interest she showed in each one of them. "Auntie Annie" will be remembered by her many Dillon and Mueller nieces and nephews, God children, and in-laws.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, her parents, and her siblings: John, Patrick, Thomas, Mary (Kehoe), William and James. Robert survives her.

Anne was a member of the Northern Illinois University Newman Center Parish, Christ the Teacher in DeKalb. The memorial mass will be held at the parish on Thursday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m.
