Audrey M. Sheehan, 84, of Rochelle died on Saturday January 1, 2011 at her home, surrounded by family. A private Mass for the family will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, with Father Kenneth Anderson officiating. A private family burial will take place in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

Audrey was born February 22, 1926 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Dean and Alice (Lajeck) Barnard. She married the late James P. Sheehan on June 8, 1946; he preceded her in death on November 6, 2007.

Audrey retired after 25 years of service with Northern Illinois University, she enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, and her garden. Audrey was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

Survivors include her children, Elaine Winter, James (MaryBeth) Sheehan, Anne (William) Phelps, Delyce Turner, Robert (Jasmina) Sheehan, Michael (Lisa) Sheehan, Matthew (Tonya) Sheehan, John (Allison) Sheehan, grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Molly, Erin, Luke, Eric, Adam, Andrew, Colin, Amanda, Natalie, Josh, Catherine, Michael, great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Cooper, Lauren, Nathen, Chase, Nolan, Jacob, Seth, and nieces, Nancy and Liz.
