Bertha J. Byro

Bertha J. Byro 103, of DeKalb passed away August 6, 2023, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born September 14, 1919, in Rochelle, IL and was the daughter of Fred and Thora (Thorson) Cederholm.

Bertha graduated from Rochelle High School in the class of 1937. She married Ralph E. Byro on May 22, 1943, in Great Bend, KS and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2011.  She was a wonderful homemaker and a great partner with Ralph on the family farm.

Bertha was an active lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston, IL.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, and three brothers; Ellwood, Clarence and Theodore.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10:00am at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, IL.  Memorials can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston.
