Betty J. Azar

Betty J. Azar 86, of DeKalb formerly of Tuscola, IL, died Saturday April 29, 2017 at her home.  She was born May 1, 1930 in Trumann, Arkansas and was the daughter of Leo and Lucille (Settle) Ladd.

She married Alfred G. Azar in Chicago in January of 1950. Betty was a loving homemaker. She graduated from Wells High School in Chicago, IL, in the class of 1948. Betty has lived in the DeKalb community since 2014, moving here from Tuscola, IL.

Survivors include: daughters: Sherry (Gabe) Mereulo of FL, Sandra (Thaddeus) Podolak of Naperville, IL, Susan (Christopher) Porterfield of DeKalb, Debra (Woody) Williams of GA, sisters: Thelma Oldham of KY, Dolly Irwin of Arcola, IL, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, husband: Alfred, and brothers: Robert and William.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday May 7, 2017 at 12:00pm in the Finch Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Gastiger officiating. Burial will be in Arcola Township Cemetery in Arcola, IL, on Monday May 8, 2017. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
