Betty Cone Marsh age 88 of DeKalb, IL died on Saturday November 12, 2011 in the DeKalb Area Retirement Center-Oakcrest. Born on October 28, 1923 in DeKalb, IL, she was the daughter of Norman and Ann (Zeller) Stephens and raised by her grandparents Frank and Anna Zeller.
Betty was married to the late Ilo "Bud" Marsh on January 21, 1950 in St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, he preceded her in death on June 27, 1973. Betty worked for Dr. John Moss a dentist in DeKalb, she had also worked at Notre Dame High School. Betty had lived her entire life in the DeKalb community, she was an avid sports fan and cherished her beloved pets which she had all her life. She graduated from St. Mary?s School in 1937, and then graduated from DeKalb Township High School in the class of 1941.
Survivors include: daughter: Susan (Jack) McFarland of Cortland, granddaughters: Emily (Derrick) Dailey of DeKalb, Kaylee McFarland of Cortland, great-grandsons: Brian and Shaun Dailey, and cousins: Carole Lindsey, Glendora Ladoski. Betty was preceded in death by: grandparents, parents, husband: Ilo "Bud", daughter: Lynn Frantum, granddaughter: Shannon Leigh McFarland, special aunts: Amelia Carpenter, Pauline Sells, uncles: John and George Zeller, half brother: Randy Cone, and sister-in-law: Jeane Wagner.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Father Alex Del Toro of Christ The Teacher Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 9:00 am till the time of the service in the funeral home.
