Charlotte D. Bross

Charlotte D. Bross 94, lifelong resident of DeKalb, IL passed away Tuesday January 25, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. She was born January 3, 1928, in DeKalb and was the daughter of Hans and Helga (Sylvander) Lindelof.

Charlotte graduated from DeKalb High School in 1946. She married John J. Bross on October 16, 1954, in Indiana, he preceded her in death on July 17, 2006. She worked for the University Plaza, Farm Services, and Lehan's Pharmacy. Charlotte was a member of First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, and she enjoyed wintering in Arizona, getting together with classmates, gardening and lawn maintenance, and attending Municipal Band Concerts in DeKalb on Tuesday evenings. Charlotte and her classmates were very active in spearheading the campaign for the Dee Palmer statue at Hopkins Park.

She is survived by her children; Cathy Bross of Hayward, WI and John K. (Mary Jo) Bross of DeKalb.  Grandchildren; Bross Sivertson, Brooks Sivertson, Trygve (Lisa) Sivertson, and Ron (Jennifer) Breese. Great-Grandchildren; Joshua Breese and Celeste Sivertson. Brother-in-law; Wilbur Kocher of Sycamore, several nieces and her beloved cat Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and sister-in-law, Mary Kocher.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 31, 2022, at 1:00pm at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb with Pastor Janet Hunt officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Monday January 31, 2022, at 12:00pm until the time of the service at the church.
