Christine Burtzos

Christine Burtzos 89, of DeKalb passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at home. She was born on December 22, 1934, in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of Christopher and Lucille (Widutis) Spartz.

Christine graduated from Sycamore High School in 1952. She married Ronald G. Burtzos on September 11, 1954, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sycamore.  Ron preceded her in death on February 29, 2024.  Christine worked in housekeeping at the University Plaza for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.

Survivors include; two daughters; Suzanne (David) Haltom of Katy, TX and Sandra (David) Protano of DeKalb. Granddaughter; Lyndsy (Adam) MacNeille of DeKalb. Four Great grandchildren; Dominick Allen, Brayden MacNeille, and Jaxson MacNeille all of DeKalb and Jayden MacNeille of Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb with Father Dean Russell officiating. Burial will be immediately following mass at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.  Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
