Delbert D. Trotter

Delbert D. Trotter age 89, of DeKalb died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his home.  He was born December 4, 1928 in Jonathan Creek Township, IL and was the son of Jerome B. and Lina C. (Young) Trotter.

Delbert worked for G.E. in DeKalb for 37 years.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, bowling and especially spending time with his family. Delbert served his country in the United States Army.  He was member of St. Mary Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include; wife Helen Corrine Trotter of DeKalb, nine children; Bobby Totter of DeKalb, Corrine "Suzie" Trotter of TN, Michael (Cheryl) Trotter of Machesney Park, IL, Lina Martin of Rochelle, Wanda (Doug) Mikolajczyk of Sycamore, Theresa (Bob Nelson) Beck of Sycamore, Patricia (David) Gross of Creston, Catherine Trotter of FL, and Tina (Gene) Chesser of Sycamore.  Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Selvin, Alfred, and Freddie. Sisters; Lina, Cecelia, Dolores, and an infant sister.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb with Father Dean Russell officiating. Burial with full military rites provided by the DeKalb American Legion Post #66 will be held immediately following the Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb with a wake service at 5:45pm.  Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.  Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
