Delores A. Stingley

Delores Annette Stingley, age 92, of DeKalb IL was called home to heaven the morning of April 13, 2022, with her youngest daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Delores was born at home in Chicago on February 4, 1930. She lived many places in her 92 years, as close as Iowa and as far as California; her favorite place being South Carolina, but she always came back to sweet home Chicago. Her love for travel could not be outdone by her love for art. Delores excelled in many forms of art including watercolor, oil paintings, and sketching; much of her art is proudly displayed in the homes of her loved ones. Delores was also never far from a book; she enjoyed, so much, to delve deep into a good mystery novel or bibliography. Delores had many pets in her life, her latest being Sammy. Sammy was a guardian for her, always watching her step, and letting anyone know that she was the keeper of her with her loud little bark.

She is survived by her son, Bob (Rita) Parson, her grandchildren Brian, Denell, Lauren, Jeffery, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her eldest daughter Judy Sabin, her grandchildren Nicole, Heather, and Billy; her youngest daughter Carol (Joe) Scheffler and her granddaughter Krystan.

She is preceded in death by her sister Joyce Blankenship, her brother Arnold Stingley, her mother Irene Stingley, and her Father Theodore Roosevelt Stingley.

A memorial service will be set for a later date. Cremation was entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL, 60115 (815) 758-3841.
