Diane M. Copenhaver
October 31, 1947 – June 7, 2023
Diane M. Copenhaver, 75, passed away on June 7, 2023, in her home in Sycamore, IL, surrounded by loved ones.
Diane M. Copenhaver was born in Park Ridge, IL to George and Susan Novak on October 31, 1947. She had four siblings, brother Dennis Novak, George Novak, Leo Novak and sister Susan Fege.
Diane met the love of her life Kenneth Copenhaver in 1965. They married on October 26, 1968, after Kenneth served in Vietnam war. They wrote letters to each other every day when he was in the service. Diane and Ken had two children, son Ken Copenhaver, and daughter, Kimberly Bychowski who she loved dearly.
When Diane had her first child, Ken, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Diane excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of our family, through and through. She was an excellent gift giver, always knew the right things to say, never missed a special date or an event. She was our constant cheerleader and supporter. Once her children were grown she worked at our family's construction company as a secretary. Diane loved her husband, children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was an avid reader and she loved animals. She enjoyed staying active and living a healthy lifestyle.
Diane is preceded in death by parents George and Susan Novak, brother Dennis Novak, and sister- in- law: Carol Novak.
Diane is survived by her spouse, Kenneth Copenhaver, son Ken Copenhaver and daughter Kimberly Bychowski (Scott Bychowski), grandchildren Brett Koeng, Hayden Copenhaver, Lia Bychowski, Molly Bychowski and Coltin Copenhaver.
A small and intimate celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 12th with her very close loved ones. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to: Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL, 60115 (815) 758-3841.
