Dolores L. (Wood) Koopman age 86 of Machesney Park, IL, died on Saturday January 10, 2015 in the River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. She was born on December 22, 1928 in Rockford, IL, and was the daughter of Lee Charles and Ella Rosalie (Bissell) Hoover Sr.

Dolores worked for Sears and Roebuck for many years before her retirement, and after retirement she was able to travel to all 50 states, and loved playing Bingo. Dolores has lived most of her life in the Rockford area, and attended Harlem High School.

Survivors include: children: Donovan (Gayle) Wood of Machesney Park, Jeanne C. Hillman of Machesney Park, Robert Wood of Loves Park, Ronald Woof of Machesney Park, grandchildren: Joshua (Kari) Wood, Danielle Wood, Eric Wood, great-grandson: Ryan Wood, sister: Alice (Donald) Anderson of Machesney Park, brother: Marvin (Bobbie) Hoover of Hot Springs, AR, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents, brothers: Lee Hoover Jr., and Earl Hoover.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday January 15, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL with Pastor Peder Carlson officiating. Cremation will take place at the Finch Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
