Doris (nee Levey). On September 20, in DeKalb, IL. Formerly of New York City and Ocean Beach, Fire Island. Born on February 17, 1917, in New York City. She served for two decades at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, first as a secretary and then as the Administrative Assistant to Dr. Irving Selikoff, Director of Environmental Medicine. She was preceded in death by parents Julius and Lena Levey, husband Maurice Fleisher, daughter Carol Fleisher Feldman (Jerome Bruner), brother Morton Leland and his wife, Harriet. She is survived by her children, Richard Fleisher (Terri) and Robert Fleisher (Darsha Primich), nephews David Leland (Amira Joelson) and Daniel Leland (Sylvia), grandsons Seth Fleisher (Emily Baldwin) and Michael Fleisher, and great-grandsons Miles Fleisher and Jonah Fleisher. She studied art and dance, sang and played the piano, and was a true Aquarian who loved being in (and near) the water. She cherished the arts and learning and, most especially, her children.
