Doris G. Thomas age 89 of DeKalb, IL died on Wednesday February 9, 2012 in the DeKalb County Rehab. and Nursing Center in DeKalb. Born on July 31, 1922 in Charter Grove, IL, she was the daughter of Grant and Gladys (Smith) Davis.

Doris was married to the late Roy R. Thomas on May 10, 1947 in the United Methodist Church in Dixon. Doris held many secretarial positions in the local community over the years. Doris was also retired from N.I.U. in 1983 after 23 years. Doris was member of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb for 75 plus years. She was also a member of N.I.U. Annuitants Association, and SUA Association.

Survivors include: step-daughter: Alta M. Vandre of DeKalb, sister-in-law: Marilyn A. Davis of Winthrop Harbor, IL, brother: Maury Davis of Zion, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents, husband: Roy, brothers: Stanley and Ronald.

Funeral service will be held on Monday February 13, 2012 at 11:00am in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Monday February 13, 2012 at 10:00am until the time of the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital.
