Edward (Eddie) Guida

Edward (Eddie) Guida, 69, of DeKalb, IL, passed away Friday September 20, 2019. He was born June 15, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Mary (Bausone) Guida and was married to Mary (Mammoser) Guida on January 17, 1976.

Eddie was a retired Union Laborer working for the Chicago District Council of Carpenter and Joiners Union for nearly 40 years. He loved his Chicago sports and could always be found coaching his beloved Cubs through the T.V. He loved every kind of music and loved to attend as many outdoor concerts as he could. He also loved fishing and could spend countless hours on any body of water. His love for food was endless, especially Portillo's sausage & beef combo or an all you can eat buffet.

Edward is survived by his 4 children, Jennifer (John) Stratton, Ericka Guida, Bryon (Bianca) Guida, Jeffrey (Jessica) Guida. 7 grandchildren, Jacob Stratton, Josh Stratton, Kinsley Guida, Aidan Guida, Thayne Guida, Branson Guida, Abri Guida. He is also survived by his siblings John (Maureen), Jean Marie(Carl), Mary Anne, Charles (Debbie), William (Kate), Cecilia (Marvin), Lawrence (Gail), and Leonard, along with many extended relatives.

At Edwards request his body has been donated to science at Northern Illinois University for study. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Arrangements were entrusted to: Finch Funeral Home.  A celebration of life memorial will be planned at a later date.
