Ermadell M. Gherity age 82 of Kingston, IL, died on Thursday August 25, 2011 in her residence in Kingston. Born on August 4, 1929 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of William and Frances (Buday) Borsky.
Ermadell was married to James A. Gherity on June 18, 1955 in Detroit, MI. She was the secretary for the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Wayne State University, later she was the secretary of the History Department at Wayne State University. Ermadell then taught classes in Tailoring, Spinning, Weaving, and Natural Dies, and then finally she became the owner and operator of Lavender Hill Herb Nursery. She has lived in Kingston since 1974, moving there from DeKalb. Ermadell had attended mass at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Genoa, she was also a member of the Lamb and Wool Producers Association, and the Chicago Region Sports Car Club of America from 1965-1975. After graduating from high school Ermadell later in her life received her Associates Degree from Kishwaukee College in 1992.
Survivors include: husband: James of Kingston, sons: Christopher William (Deb) of Kingston, Shawn Patrick (Deb) of Warren, IN, grandchildren: Jason Courtney, Jamie Gherity, Jessica Gherity, Troy Shomo, Chad Shomo, Angela Mannes, Christine Lee, Stephen Marchlewicz, 13 great-grandchildren, sister: Donice (James) McKinley of MI, sister-in-law: Marion Gherity, niece: Fran (Jim) Hogan of MI, nephew: Phillip McKinley of MI. Preceded in death by: parents, and grandson: Jason Taylor.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Linderman of Grace Point Community Church in Belvidere officiating. Cremation will follow services at the Finch Crematory. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 12:00 pm till the time of the service in the funeral home.
