Evelyn Marie Luoma

Evelyn Marie Luoma, 107, of DeKalb passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Bethany Health

Care and Rehabilitation in DeKalb. She was born February 7, 1917, in Malta, IL, and she was the

daughter of William N. and Sadie (Reinima) Hueber.

Evelyn attended Hueber one room grade school located at the corner of Malta Road and Rich

Road. She graduated from DeKalb Township High School in 1935. Evelyn married Tenho Karl

Luoma. She worked as a dental assistant and later on for various allergists in the area. She

enjoyed raising her family, and being a homemaker. She was fond of dogs, especially her dog

from years ago named Boots and now her granddogs; Reggie and Coochie. Evelyn was known

for her home cooked meals, immaculate housekeeping, golf course ready lawn, and keeping up

with her home for 66 years.

Evelyn was one of seven siblings and was the last of 4 generations of the Hueber clan.

Survivors include; two children; son, Kim (Carol) Luoma of St. Charles and daughter, Karla

(Charles) Brieant of Paul Smiths, NY. Two granddaughters; Nicole Luoma and Ashley

(Matthew) Cozart. She was preceded in death by her husband Karl, parents Will & Sadie.

Brother; Floyd Hueber, sisters; Hazel Hueber, Ruth (Bill) Janssen, Lucille Hueber, Marion

Hueber, and Phyllis (John) McCormick.

Per Evelyn's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements were entrusted
