Frances "Eloise" Twombly


Age 99 of Evanston, IL, died on Friday, October 28, 2016, in the Journey Care Hospice in Glenview, IL. She was born on February 15, 1917 in Goshen, IN, and was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Minnie C. (Pixley) Reafsnyder.
Eloise was married to the late Professor John J. Twombly in the St. Mary Rectory on June 5, 1943. Her husband preceded her in death on October 8, 1990. Eloise was a retired LPN, having worked many years at the St. Mary Hospital in DeKalb.
Survivors include her son, Professor John R. (Lori) Twombly, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a stillborn son, son (Paul D), sisters (Grace Blodgett and Viola Plummer), and brothers (Victor and Bernard Reafsnyder).
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 1:00PM in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home with Pastor Janet Hunt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 12:00 noon preceding the service in the funeral home.
