Joan "Joni" A. Faivre

Joan "Joni" A. Faivre 67, of DeKalb died Monday, August 16, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.  She was born September 2, 1953, in Elgin, IL and was the daughter of Richard F. and Ann (Wood) Lantz.

Joni graduated from Kaneland High School in 1970 and then went on to beauty school.  She married Thomas C. Faivre on March 15, 1993, in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2019.

Joni was a beautician for Alberto's and Cibby's in DeKalb for many years before retiring in 2016.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.  She was a member of the DeKalb Moose Lodge #586.

Survivors include children; Shawna (Keith) Gordon, Kyle (Christina Cassidy) Hinkle, Stephanie (Jermel) Ollie, Beth Faivre, Jennifer (Tommie Knuckles) Bobo, Trent (Kristin) Faivre.  Grandchildren; Austin, Mercedes (Vance), Alexis, Edward Jr., Elijah, Rylee, Xavier, Lord, Othello, Tyson, Gianna, Treyson, Molly, one great grandchild; Marley Mae and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Tom.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Finch Funeral Home.  Celebration of life will be held immediately following the visitation at the DeKalb Moose Lodge #586 1231 E. Lincoln Hwy DeKalb.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.  Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
