Joan N. Anderson

Joan N. Anderson age 69 of DeKalb, IL, died on Thursday March 23, 2017 in the Kishwaukee Hospital Emergency Room. Born on May 7, 1947 in DeKalb, IL, she was the daughter of Ronald E. and Stella (Sipavich) Nehring.

Joan was married to the late David L. Anderson on September 9, 1972 in Hinckley, IL, he preceded her in death on January 23, 2004. Joan worked at Northern Illinois University in the Center for Child Welfare and Education Department for many years. She graduated from Hinckley-Big Rock High School in the class of 1965, she also attended Northern Illinois University for 2 semesters in 1967.

Survivors include: sons: Aaron (Tia) Anderson, Ryan Anderson both of DeKalb, grandson: Aiden Anderson, sister: Chelon Nehring of Chicago, brothers: Dan (Jane) Nehring of MA, Alan (Lavon) Nehring of Sycamore, Ron I. Nehring of Hinckley. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband: David, and sister: Susan D. Nehring.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at 10:30 am in the Finch Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Gastiger officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Monday March 27, 2017 at 5:00pm till 7:00pm in the Finch Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family to be established at a later date.
