John J. Gress, 97, died on June 14, 2016.
He was born in Blue Island, IL to Mary and Joseph Gress.
John was a carpenter most of his life. He built a home for his family in Crestwood, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Katherine Gress, his daughter, Barbara Votaw, two grandchildren Mike and Valerie Votaw, and one great grandchild, Alexis Votaw.
He was preceded by his parents, siblings, Steve Gress, Mary Gress, Margaret Gress, and Helen Migas, son-in-law: Kurt Votaw, in addition to many cousins and in-laws.
