John M. "Dewey" Yaeger

John M. "Dewey" Yaeger, age 48, of Atlanta, GA, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  He was born June 19, 1969 in Springfield, IL and was the son of Dewey Yaeger and Sandra (Ring) Zoelzer.

John graduated from Springfield Southeast High School in 1987 followed by Northern Illinois University, where he earned his B.S. in Political Science. John was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity where he met some of his closest friends.  He enjoyed traveling, bicycling, and was the "world's okayest drummer". John was also an avid amateur photographer and a dedicated St. Louis Cardinal fan. John was a loving son, uncle, brother and a friend to all. He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include: father, Dewey R. Yaeger of Sycamore; sisters, Cathy (Kevin) Canham of Springfield, IL and Kim (Dan) Heinisch of Sycamore; nieces and nephew: Melody, Emily, and Cassidy Canham and Morgan, Cole, and Addie Heinisch.  He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Sandra and Ray Zoelzer; stepmother, Kathy Yaeger; and nephew, Drew Heinisch.
