Linda Simon

Linda Simon 83, of DeKalb passed away on Saturday August 20, 2022, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.  She was born January 12, 1939, in Buffalo, NY and was the daughter of James Felsenthal and Gladys (Kornhauser) Simon.

Linda graduated from DeKalb High School in 1957. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeKalb.  She enjoyed embroidery and knitting, making all kinds of things for her loved ones.   She was a volunteer helping at the Country Store and the Salvation Army Daycare for many years.  Linda loved the shoreline in Florida and Massachusetts.  She was avid collector of frogs and dolls.

She is survived by two sisters; Margo Simon of Salem, MA and Connie (Francis) Helque of Barzan, France.  Three nephews; Eric Helque, Christophe Helque, and Alexandre (Catherine) Helque. A great niece Clèmence and great nephew Jean-Baptiste, and dear friends Bob Storm and Pastor Jane Hamilton. She also leaves new friends in her "forever home" at Bethany Healthcare and the TLC from Carrie Baldwin and staff.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022, at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church of DeKalb with Pastor Jane Hamilton officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.  Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.  Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
