Lisa A. Rosenbalm
Lisa Rosenbalm, a devoted wife, loving mother and loyal friend, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, the morning of Saturday, October 15th, 2022. She was 67 years young and to say she will be missed dearly is beyond an understatement. Lisa's personality and smile were infectious. Her presence and energy could be felt the moment she entered a room. A young soul, taken too soon. Those that knew her and knew her well, know what a gift it was to be able to enjoy some of life's best moments while in her company.
Lisa was a 1973 graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock high school, a cosmetologist and a licensed massage therapist. She spent many years working as a hair stylist but found her true professional calling when she became a certified massage therapist. She took great pride in her work and being a part of her patients healing process was a source of immense personal fulfillment. Her ability to heal and decrease stress was beyond compare. A simple grocery errand would often lead to being greeted by a friendly, smiling face of a former patient who would hug her and thank her for helping them in their own personal healing journey.
Her professional life brought her joy but the job she loved the most was being a mom. She was a great mom. Her children would argue she was the best. She loved her children more than anything else in this world. She would frequently reminisce about how becoming a mother made her realize her true purpose in life. She loved taking care of her children and their friends. She had the warmest heart and it radiated throughout her welcoming home. The door was revolving, never a knock needed or a friend turned away. From pre-game Friday afternoon football gatherings, to float buildings to slumber parties and everything in between. Every friend and family member felt comfortable in her home. Unsurprisingly, this feeling extended beyond the walls of the home. Her warmth made you feel comfortable and at peace no matter where she was. It was part of the true essence of her being.
In her final days, she remained a devoted wife, caretaker and mother. She unwaveringly committed herself to her loving husband and their battle to find a new normal life with health and happiness of the utmost priority. Even in her last moments, we are confident she did not suffer. She was truly blessed with a perfect weekend with her entire family just a few days prior and a quick and painless passing. She wouldn't have had it any other way.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Scott Rosenbalm, her children, Katie and Andy (Randa) Ballard, stepdaughters Alyssa Dunn and Desiree Morrison, nieces Jenny Kaus and Sarah Ziemba, and her sister, Pam Lewis. She is predeceased by her parents, Ronnie and Arlene Riedelsperger.
There will be an open visitation to celebrate her life at Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb, IL from 1-4 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cause that was near and dear to her heart, Tails Humane Society in Dekalb.
If you prefer to send flowers, please call Kar-Fre Florist in Sycamore. Lisa was also a lifelong member of DeKalb and Ogle counties with another special place in her heart for community and the challenges of being self employed.
Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to: Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL, 60115 (815) 758-3841.
