Marcia K. Tennison

Age 76 of DeKalb, IL died on Tuesday May 9, 2017 in the DeKalb Area Retirement Center Oakcrest in DeKalb. She was born on June 19, 1940 in DeKalb, IL, and was the daughter of Kenneth and MaryElla (Oldham) Kallembach.

Marcia worked many years as an executive secretary for General Electric in DeKalb, and American Bare Conductor, and Sycamore Industrial Park. She graduated from DeKalb High School in the class of 1958. Marcia was a Charter Member of the American Veterans Post 90 Auxilliary, and a past member of the Gen-E-Deks.

Survivors include: son; James Tennison of Sycamore, daughter: Angela Kay (Joe) Verkler of Sycamore, grandchildren: Sarah Verkler, Jesse Verkler, and great-grandchild: Ella Rose Verkler, brother: Paul "Dome" Kallembach, sister: Karen (Jim) Bulkley, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: parents, sisters: Judith Corine Smith, Bonnie Drury, and a granddaughter Mary C. Tennison.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday May 13, 2017 in the Finch Funeral Home at 10:00 am with Pastor Keyong-Ah Woo of the Kirkland United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held at the Finch Funeral Home on Friday May 12, 2017 from 5:00pm till 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the KishHealth Systems Hospice or the American Veteran Ladies Auxiliary Post 90 of DeKalb.
