Mary Jean Conlin McCabe of DeKalb, IL passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI.

She was born on October 20, 1922 in DeKalb. She attended St. Mary?s School and graduated from DeKalb High School. She married Thomas McCabe in 1950 and for over two decades joined him in the ownership and operation of The Shamrock in DeKalb. Mary Jean was a member of St. Mary?s Church and Catholic Daughters. She loved spending time with her family and traveled often to Wisconsin to visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cletus and Mary Conlin; two brothers Chuck and Jim; and a sister Marge Roach. She is survived by three sons; Tom (Shirley), Mike (Nancy) and Edward, four granddaughters and two great grandsons.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 5, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Mary Catholic Church with father James Parker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Friday July 5, 2013 at 10:00 am till the time of the service in the church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary?s Church, 321 Pine St. DeKalb, IL 60115.
