Matthew "Matt" David Clark

Matthew David "Matt" Clark, 36, of Hampshire, Illinois, passed away on December 27, 2025. Born on September 7, 1989, in DeKalb, Illinois, Matt was known for his kindness, humor, and fun-loving spirit that lit up every room he entered.

A proud 2008 graduate of Leland High School, Matt built his life around the things he loved most—his family, his friends, and the simple joys of life on the farm. Whether he was out on the track go-kart racing or spending time with those closest to him, Matt brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

Matt is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his mother, Julie Halverson, and father, Dee Halverson; his grandmother, Linda Jackiw; his siblings Ashley (John) Yonkoski, Jillian Halverson, Alex (Sarah) Halverson and nephew Stetson. His aunts Lisa(Steve) Stach, Joey Cavanaugh, Suzanne(Greg) Jackiw Wallin. Uncle's Don(Kim) Halverson Dan(Susie) Halverson, and Aunt Mary and Uncle Don Hecathorn and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Michael Jackiw and Dave Halverson, and his grandmother, Dawn Halverson.

A visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb on January 10, 2026, at 11:30am with a memorial mass at 12:30pm at the church with Father Dean Russell officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A celebration of life will be held at Faranda's 302 Grove St. DeKalb immediately after the funeral mass everyone is welcome to attend and share stories. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date. Matt will be remembered for his generous heart, quick smile, and the joy he shared so freely with everyone around him. and stories shared by all who knew him.
