Pablo Martin Zelaya

Pablo Martin Zelaya 51, of DeKalb died unexpectedly Saturday, September 5, 2015. He was born March 12, 1964 in La Ceiba, Hondoras and was the son of Gloria Ortega.

Martin worked for Building Services for NIU for 22 years and valued his work with the AFSCME Local #963. During his free time he enjoyed spending time with his children, traveling, and his truest passion, music. Though he was unable to return to Honduras, he communicated with his family often.

Survivors include; his three children; Cameron, Krysta and Lauren; his mother Gloria Ortega and his brother Aldo Zelaya. Though his marriage with Carol Zelaya ended, he was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister Carmen Zelaya.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00am at the First Congregational United Church of Christ 615 N. 1 ^st St. DeKalb, IL with Reverends Joseph Gastiger and Judy Harris officiating. Burial will take place in Honduras at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 9:30am until the time of service.
