Patricia "Pattie" Hirata
Pattie Hufnagl Hirata, 67, of the Wildwood Community in Sandwich, Il, passed away in peace on January 3, 2024. She is survived by her sisters Mary Hufnagl, Dorie Anderson, brother-in-law Paul Anderson, and nephew Andrew Hufnagl. Of the three sisters, Pattie was surly the feistiest. She graduated high school early, and then attended Lewis University.  Her work career took her from doing office work at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, then at a major moving truck company. After several years as a manager for the Victor Envelope Company, she settled in for a long career in the insurance department of Duly, (formerly DuPage) Medical Group where she skillfully navigated thru complex insurance contracts assuring payments were properly posted. She retired two years ago and planned to live a quieter life with her kitties and dog. Pattie enjoyed traveling on the back of a motorcycle, attending Sturgis, several times   Tent camping with family, friends, and her many k-9 companions made her happy. Decorating her yard with garage sale finds that she would skillfully transform into colorful works of art, brightening her house. She was not shy and would attempt to right a wrong as she saw it. This led to many an interesting, and sometimes one sided, conversation with those who courageously choose to do so. She was always authentically herself.

We will miss her dearly. She now crosses over the rainbow bridge and joins her many furry companions.

Respecting Patties wishes, no wake or memorial service will be held. Celebrate her life as you choose. If wished, please donate in her name to any animal rescue group preferred.  Cremation was entrusted to Finch Crematory.
