Raymond "Ray" Kovich

Raymond "Ray" Kovich, age 91, formerly of DeKalb, IL passed away Sunday, August 8 ^th , 2021, of natural causes.

Ray was born on September 21, 1929, in DeKalb, IL to Nick and Vera. He had 3 brothers Sam, George, Danny and one sister, Mary. He had several successful careers- salon owner, landlord, and entrepreneur. He married Anita Engle in 1957 and they had two beautiful daughters, Maria and Kimberly.

Ray is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Donald Wilson, grandsons Bryan (Angie), Scott (Amanda), great-grandson Calvin and his granddaughter Heather (Ian) Trice, as well as his grandsons Nik and George Hormel. Ray is preceded in death by his siblings, and daughter Kim.

A lover of all Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs, Ray was thrilled to attend several games during their 2016 championship year. Ray was outgoing and could often be found striking up a conversation wherever he went. He was also a committed participant in Alcoholics Anonymous for over sixty years.
