Robert O. Beck

Robert O. Beck 82, of DeKalb died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb. He was born June 30, 1933 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Harry and Ione (Gusler) Beck.

Robert was in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Military Police Officer. He moved to DeKalb 20 years ago coming from Maple Park where he owned Beck's Auto Repair. He also worked as a mechanic for Tom Sparks Auto for many years. He was a member of the DeKalb Moose, Life Member of American Legion Maple Park Post 312 and he was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association DeKalb County Chapter.

Survivors include; two sons, Dean (Anna) Beck of DeKalb and Chad Beck of Deerfield, IL and nephews: Gary (Sally) Gibbons, James (Linda) Gibbons, Grant (Staci) Gibbons, Steve Beck, niece: Carol (James) Klager, and numerous great nieces and nephews, special friend Regina Harris of DeKalb, IL and one sister Lorraine Gibbons of Janesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Lowell.

Memorial service with full military honors will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00am at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 10:00am until the time of service. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
