Ruth Marie Bodda

Ruth Marie Bodda 93, of DeKalb passed away on November 28, 2024, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center. She was the daughter of George and Marie (Stocking) Heal, born June 15, 1931, at the farmhouse on Heal Road in Malta.

Ruth attended school for 8 years in a one room schoolhouse then went on to Malta High School, graduating in 1949.

As a teen, Ruth loved to roller skate at the DeKalb Roller Rink. That's where she met a tall, lanky red head, Norman (Red) Bodda. The two married on June 15, 1950. They raised their three children, Rick, Terri, and Dave, on Regal Drive in Tilton Park with wonderful neighbors all around them.

Ruth enjoyed getting her large extended family together, hosting many parties on Regal Drive or at their Florida home.

She was the last of her siblings and was preceded in death by her husband Red, son Richard (Rick) who recently passed.

Survivors include: son David (Kim) Bodda of Durand, IL, Daughter Terri (Randy) Clifton of East Windsor, CT. Grandchildren: Michele Bodda, Jennifer (David) Ingham, Jarrid (Meg) Clifton, David (Nicole) Clifton, Marie Bodda, Jack Bodda, and 10 great grandchildren.

A private burial will take place at a later date. Cremation rites and arrangements have been entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
