Sandra M. Weber, age 83, died May 11, 2026, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, when she was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born October 29, 1942 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Henry Weber and Martha Marie (Wilmer) Weber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Martha Weber, and her two sisters-in-law, Harriet Weber and Dr. Cheryl Weber.

Sandra attended public schools in Mt. Morris, Illinois and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1960. She graduated from Illinois State University in 1964 with a degree in elementary education. While at ISU, she met her freshman roommate, Sherry Masters, who, along with her husband Tom Masters, have been life-long friends. Sandra and Sherry continued their Bible study together every Saturday afternoon by phone or Zoom for over 60 years.

After graduation, Sandra spent three months in Germany traveling and visiting relatives. She taught for several years in both the Elgin Public Schools and the Joliet Public Schools in Illinois. She spent the rest of her teaching career teaching grades 2-5 at the DuJardin Elementary School, District 13 in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Sandra retired in 2001.

During her lifetime, Sandra was an avid reader, writer, and traveler. She owned two horses and was an excellent dressage rider, winning many ribbons and trophies. She was a cat lover and owned many cats over the years. She enjoyed riding her bicycle both on the Fox River Trail and on many other trails and back roads. Sandra enjoyed special summer vacations renting a house with her brothers and their spouses on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was a Civil War buff and collector. She visited many battlefields and enjoyed teaching her students about it. She was a long-time member of the Willow Creek Church in South Barrington, Illinois. During a Willow Creek Mission trip to Germany, she met special friends, Bianca and Uli Wagner, who she visited several times. Since moving to Oak Crest Retirement Center in DeKalb in 2023, she has attended the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb.

The Family gives a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Oak Crest Retirement Center, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, and at Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Sandra.
