DeKalb, IL, Sheryl A. Montavon, age 79, died Thursday August 4, 2016 in Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb, IL. Sheryl was born May 6, 1937 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Anthony & Elvira (Klemm) Umbdenstock. Sheryl graduated from Maple Park Community High School, and then received a degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI. Sheryl married John Montavon on August 12, 1967 in DeKalb, IL and he preceded her in death on January 6, 2005.
Sheryl worked a legal secretary for Klein Stoddard Buck Attorneys. Sheryl was a private pilot, where she was part of the Civil Air Patrol. She ran a family farm market stand on Sycamore Road. Sheryl enjoyed reading, spending her time with family and most of all her grandchildren.

Sheryl is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: John; Grandchild: David Jr.; 1 Sister: Carol Kohley; and Brother: Ralph Umbdenstock.
Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary Catholic Church, DeKalb, IL on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Father McMorrow officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, DeKalb, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until service time in St. Mary Catholic Church, DeKalb, IL.
