Thomas F. Grady

Thomas F. Grady 70, of DeKalb passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  He was born March 28, 1954, and was the son of Thomas F. and Jane C. Grady.

Thomas was a versatile professional with a rich and varied career. He worked as an engineer for Motorola, owned and operated TARS Consulting, and managed IT operations for OmniPAC in St. Charles. His achievements extended beyond his professional life—he was a highly skilled pilot and a certified flight instructor with a multi-engine rating.

Thomas had a passion for sailing, especially around the British Virgin Islands, and he cherished dining out and socializing with friends. He was a social member of the Kishwaukee Country Club in DeKalb. Thomas was also an avid animal lover, with a special affection for his cats.

Survivors include special friends he has met over the years; Eric Peterson of Virginia, Mike Daly of DeKalb, Jeff (Julie) Main of DeKalb, Orlando Rocha of St. Charles, and Brian Chandlee of Hawaii.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Mary Grady.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Private burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
