Timothy Alan Cox age 64 of DeKalb, IL, died on Monday August 18, 2014 in the Presence Saint Anne Center in Rockford, IL., He was born on August 29, 1949 in Keokuk, IA, and was the son of Irwin "Wyn" and Aloise (Barber) Cox.

Tim was employed for the DeKalb School District for many years in the Custodial Department. Tim was also the owner and operator of the Five Pin Kitchen in DeKalb. He served in the United States Navy after graduating from DeKalb High School. Tim has lived most of his life in the DeKalb community moving here from Keokuk, IA. Tim was known for being an excellent cook, loved gardening, and was very fond of wood working and carpentry. He was a huge Jimmy Buffet fan, and loved listening to Country Music.

Survivors include: mother: Aloise of DeKalb, son: Jeff Cox of DeKalb, daughter: Liz (Robert) Botts of Cortland, sisters: Sharon (Ronald) Lehman of Sycamore, Diane (Cass) Larson of Lee, grandchildren: Owen, Elijah, and Adelaide Botts, Jacie Cox, several nieces and nephews, and special family friends: Gary Barshinger, Scot Rush, Terry Hinkle, Kaelin Lapp and Dave Masoner.

Graveside service for any of Tim?s friends to speak will be at Fairview Park Cemetery DeKalb on Friday August 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow services at Fairview Park Cemetery with full military honors provided by the DeKalb V.F.W., American Legion, and AM Vets. After the burial friends are invited back to Tim?s house for a barbeque. Visitation will be held on Friday August 22, 2014 at the funeral home from 11:00AM till the time of the service.
