Tonya Redick

Tonya Redick, age 58 of Sycamore passed away peacefully at Elmhurst Hospital on December 11, 2024, with her twin daughters at her side. She was surrounded by family during the days leading up to her passing. She is home now and in God's arms.

Tonya was a loving mother, grammy, sister, aunt and friend. The most important thing to her in life was her family. She would always say "We may not be rich with money, but we are always rich with love". She was the strongest, most selfless person you have ever met. She was so much more than that. There are not even words to describe how great of a person she really was. To be raised by her was an absolute gift from God.

She was Born October 3, 1966, in Aurora Illinois to her loving mother Alice (Kincannon) Kuzma and father, Elmo Burton. She was one of six children Kimberly Ahnert, Tammy Najera, Larry Moncrief, Richie Burton, Rodney Burton, and Chris Benard.

Growing up in the Aurora and Oswego area she enjoyed a small-town lifestyle. As a young child she loved to play imaginative games like cops & robbers and cowboys & Indians. She had many fun nights playing sports like volleyball and basketball with her brothers and sisters.  She enjoyed summer walks down the tracks to Sunny's Market to exchange pop bottles to get chips and candy.  She was always up for stealing her brother Richie's minibike. They enjoyed riding their bikes down Green Hill and exploring the nature park. She was a typical 70's kid and a typical 80's teenager. As a teen she liked going roller skating and taught herself how to skate backwards. She had stories from her childhood that could keep you laughing for hours on end.

Tonya later met Carlton Reddick and married on July 11, 1987. They spent 34 wonderful years together from beginning to end. They raised four wonderful children Jennifer Allred, James Redick, Shannon Redick, and Savannah Redick. During those years she had the joy of spending as much time as she could with her amazing grandchildren Alissa Burton, Brooklyn and Nathan Allred, Jack Murmann, Zachary Mabbs, Finnley Rutleddge, Brandon Oslund, Luke, Jameson, Jackson, and Graceson Redick, Addison Hill, and Izabel Morris. She spent her time with them, giving all her love and wisdom. She would chase them around trying to get as many hugs and kisses as she could. She had a special bond with each one of her grandchildren.

Tonya Spent many wonderful years of her life working at Salerno's On The Fox. There she built life long friendships with Tina, Peach and Mo. Friendships so strong that no distance could keep them apart. After work they spent many nights singing and dancing out on the patio with Adam. You will find her now laughing and dancing in the sky, with the ones that are by her side.

Tonya always brought the family together with a good meal - from fried chicken and pork chops to potato and green bean soup. She always made a house a home, and tough times easy. She was the one you wanted to call when you needed advice or just to talk. Her faith was strong, and she always leaned on God. We may have lost a wonderful woman, but her love will live on in our hearts forever. We love you to pieces and pieces and bunches and bunches.
