Waunita Lay age 91 of DeKalb, IL died on Sunday April 24, 2011 in the DeKalb County Rehab. and Nursing Center in DeKalb. Born on March 18, 1920 in Chillicothe, IL, she was the daughter of Floyd and Leatha (Cutlip) Allen.

Waunita was married to the late George T. Lay on October 4, 1947 in DeKalb; he preceded her in death on May 20, 2001. Waunita was a loving homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in DeKalb. She has lived in DeKalb community most of her life, moving here from Chillicothe.

Survivors include: son; David (Cheryl) Lay of DeKalb, granddaughters: Dana Lay of Plainfield, Dawn (Mark) Mattison of DeKalb, great-grandchildren: Seaver and Colin Mattison, and Addyson Lay. Preceded in death by; parents, husband: George, son: Larry Pigott, brother: Gene Allen, and 2 grandchildren.
